Velvethead
The Velvethead Lounge is a podcast produced by DJ Joel Antipuesto in San Francisco. Presenting his favorite deep and funky house tracks, these DJ mixes will feed your body, soul and iPod and hopefully inspire you to move and groove.

A phrase coined by a friend to describe the texture of his shaved head, DJ Joel has since taken the term velvethead to describe the smooth and luxurious musical space that deep and funky house music provides. Velvethead is a state of mind.

DJ Joel grew up in the Bay Area on a healthy diet of soul, disco, synthpop and modern rock, and then he came of age on the dancefloor at raves. Since 2001, he's been behind the decks sharing the love where he can. His first residency was at The Bar in San Francisco's Castro district. Since then, he's been played with Ellen Ferrato and the InHouse Records crew at Sugar. In 2006, he started a weekly party called Bent with DJs Raf_One and Juan Segovia.
